"Predicted colours of Chinese soils"

Description
Soil colour is the most obvious visible soil characteristic. It can indicate soil physical, chemical and biological properties and processes, and is an important indicator for soil quality evaluation and soil management. It is used extensively as a diagnostic feature in all soil classication systems. Soil colour varies in both horizontal and vertical dimensions. To reveal its spatial variations, we used predictive soil mapping approach to map soil dry and moist colours at at 1 km2 grid cell size and over multiple depths from a recent national reconnaissance soil survey data and a suite of environmental covariates. The predicted colours of Chinese soils at nine depths, as GeoTFF rasters of Red, Green, Blue separates at 1x1 km horizontal resolution, and as true-colour composites. Metadata in file readme.txt.
